Wood Shaving Baling System – Pukepine Sawmills was established in 1998 at the current site in Te Puke and a few years later they added Purepine Mouldings as a complimentary operation. The Tanner family have been involved in sawmill ownership for over 30 years bringing a wealth of knowledge to the business
Situated on a land area of 7.8 ha. The sawmill has an annual output production level of 100,000 cubic metres, with nine drying kilns providing ample drying capacity. Machine Stress Grading and laser scanning ensure consistently high-quality products are produced year round for their domestic and international clients a like.
Pukepine contacted RMGroup with their requirement for a wood shaving Baling System. All specifications were discussed and a Baling System was designed and quoted.
Jeff Tanner Managing Director met with Edward Pugh Technical Sales at a site in Taunton. The site had a recent installation of RMGroups HDB800G Baling System which is ideal for wood shavings.
Jeff had also visited a competitor of RMGroup while in the Country but wasn’t satisfied with the difference in quality and production output of the machine.
The HBD800G offered throughput of 4 to 5 bales a minute which met the requirements of Pukepine. The Baler was ordered late Autumn and installed in the Spring. With the assistance of Pukepines staff alongside the RMGroup team the installation only took one week.
With being constantly run for over a year 24/7 there have been no technical or mechanical issues and Jeff is now considering purchasing his second baler.
This gives RMGroup the confidence even more so in our product and gives us the reputation we are known for. We are proud to be a part of the first ever installation of a Baling System for wood shavings in New Zealand.
