RMGroup were approached by Fura Iceland to install a fully automated baling plant for shredded recycled wood – or chip pin as sometimes known in the industry. The plant was built up from new and used machinery. We delivered the in-feed system as part of Phase 1, which included a bulk bagging system that the customer used to send test product out to potential customers. The system was designed to screen product from fines and dust before the packaging system.
Phase two included delivery of the fully automated baling with ABB robot palletising system and used automated pallet wrapper. We sent 4 engineers (2 x mechanical engineers, 2 x electrical engineers) and a project manager to fully install the packaging system. The plant was up and running within 2 weeks of engineers being on site. Additional features include installation of a UV light system – that kills bacteria prior to baling plant.
The horizontal form fill and seal baling system produces 4 bales a minute, and has the capacity to bale 20 and 30 Kg bales.
The plant installation has been a great success, and has received a great deal of media attention in Iceland as their first fully automated baling plant. RMGroup wish Fura every success with their new packaging machinery.
